Trick-or-Treat!!!

                                             Whooo!  Whoooooo??   A little owl named RUBY!!!

                                           Jason and I made Ruby's costume.  I cut out the fabric feathers on the         front  and arms and Jason sewed them onto one of her white onesies.

 Ruby LOVED trick-or-treating!  She was scared at first meeting new people but she really warmed up to it and ended the night yelling "Happy Halloween!" to random people walking down the road.  Her favorite candy was the suckers.  Anytime someone would let her pick the candy, she always went for a sucker and immediately wanted it opened so she could eat it.

Christmas Fun 2012

 Ruby loved visiting with Grandpa Palmer.  She kept saying "papa, papa" over and over.

 She LOVED her nightgown and slippers SO much!  If I tried to take them off she would cry.  When we first put them on her she kept looking down at them as she walked.  You could just tell she was so happy about her new pajamas.

 She loved playing with Great Grandma Gibson's wooden eggs.  It's funny, I remember playing with those as a child.

 Ruby and "Aunt Elle" hangin' out.  Of course, they were great friends.  It only took maybe two days of us being there that I'd be holding Ruby and she'd see Emily and reach out and want to go to her.

 In Stinkin' Creek, Tennessee, with my Grandma Gibson.  We're standing in the general area where Grandma and Grandpa got married so many years ago. Awwww. I love you, Grandma!

 Ruby and her cousins, Claire, Caleb, and Grant Daniels.  And she's crying.  Again.  Ruby really does love her cousins and she had lots of fun with them!  She's crying because she didn't want to sit still and take a picture - she wanted to play!

 After we got home we got to have another mini-christmas with gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Birkel.  It was fun to get another chance to gather around and open gifts together.

I realized this week that I need to do better at blogging.  As family and friends, you need to see Ruby and since most of you don't get to see her in person very often, you need to be able to see pictures and videos of her because she is just that cute.  I'm so happy I get to be her mother and watch her as she grows and be entertained by the funny things she does.  She has such a fun little personality!

I figured since I'm so far behind I'd just create a post with some of my favorite pictures. I call it...

I know, I know, it's extremely sad that my last post was in May and it's now November. So much has happened since then so I'm not even going to try to catch up. I'm just going to start with a post of Ruby's first birthday, our little Halloween baby. It was such a fun day!! It's so crazy to think our baby is already a whole year old!

Present opening...

 Ruby was OBSESSED with her new doll!  I didn't realize a one year old would even like dolls.  She opened it and was instanly in love.  She held it to her bosom and started yelling "baby!" while simultaneously whacking it on the head.  The days following her bday, Jason and i must have heard her say 'baby' at least 300 times!  But we loved it.
